Training for our Staff and for Carers

We see training for our staff as essential to maintaining a high standard of service. We offer a range of training to both our staff of care support workers as well as to the carers we support.  Our staff training programme ensures that all our care support staff, care co-ordinators and young carers staff have access to regular continued development training. Our carer training programme offers skills to enable carers to feel more confident in their caring role and to equipp them with skills to manage the choices they face in the provision of  their support.

Download the March 2012 training programme. We are offering a range of free training for our staff and carers. To help you to use our new Book a Break service  we are offering free IT training.

Training for Young Carers

Our Young Carers service is currently providing peer mentor training for our young carers. The training will help to give a voice to young carers who wish to become advocates, speaking to professionals about the experience of young carers. The training will also enable some of our older young carers to act as mentors to support younger carers.

Training is provided by our in-house training co-ordinator, other professional trainers and volunteers qualified in their own field. We also have e-learning facilities and work with other health and care professionals, inviting them to attend training sessions to give first hand information about their practice.
