Meet the team

Our experienced staff team have been working with carers for many years and our director has led the organisation for nearly 20 years. We have 7 full-time and 6 part-time staff and volunteers who work from our office in Oxford Street as well as our team or care support workers.

Alison Katerji – Director
Alison joined the organisation in 1990 and has led it since 1992. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Leadership in Health and Social Care.

Karen NewmanDeputy Director
Karen joined WCS over 10 years ago, initially as a care support worker.  After a break to have children and gain other work experience she returned to work part-time as deputy director.  She also oversees the running of the domiciliary respite service. She has a degree in Psychology, NVQ level 4 in Social Care and is an NVQ assessor.

John HenryYoung Carers Service Manager
John has been manager of the YCS since 2002. Under his leadership the Young Carers Service continues to provide valued support information and advice to young carers and their families living in Westminster.

Dana AzarAssistant Manager Young Carers Service
Dana has been working for the YCS since March 2008, she’s into art and design, organises many of the school holiday activities for young carers and enjoys working on the young carers newsletter. She has just finished a counselling degree

Najwa MroueCare Co-ordinator
Najwa has been the care co-ordinator with special responsibility for our Arabic-speaking clients since 2009 She also runs the Arabic speaking women’s group. She recently had a baby boy and returned to work part-time in August 2011.

Chibwe HenryCare Co-ordinator
Chibwe is the care co-ordinator with special responsibility for families with children with disabilities. She supports them in their caring role and ensures that the needs of the children and young people with disabilities are met in ways that focus on their strengths and abilities rather than their disabilities. She has also recently become the co-ordinator for the carers time bank

Pavla KolarovaAssistant Care Co-ordinator
Pavla joined the WCS in 2006 to support the team and became assistant care-coordinator in September 2009. She completed her NVQ level 4 in Social Care (LMC) in 2011 and now supports clients and their families working to help them  achieve their independence.

Marcia GreenTraining Co-ordinator
Marcia has worked part-time as the training co-ordinator for 2 years. She organises and delivers training to staff and care support workers to ensure that WCS provides a first-rate service, delivered by staff who are supported to continue their professional development and learning while working for WCS.

Minnie Manget - Finance Assistant
Minnie works for WCS for two days a week and spends a lot of time chasing late paying invoices, without her our cash flow would cease to flow. She also assists the finance manager with the accounts and payroll.

Jennifer LashleyFinance Manager
As finance manager Jennifer is responsible for processing the invoices, grants and donations that make up our income and dealing with the accounts. She is also our personnel and office manager and makes sure staff and suppliers get paid on time.

Richard Dyer  - IT & Admin Support Officer
Without Richard on hand to sort out any computer problems WCS would not be able to function. Richard has worked with us since 2010 and in addition to maintaining the computer systems he provides administrative support for the organisation.

Joanna WilkinOffice Volunteer
Joanna has been an office volunteer ever since retiring from her job as a care co-ordinator, a post she held for 12 years.  She recently joined the Board of Trustees.
